Anemoi

On the Nieuwendammerdijk in Amsterdam now stands Anemoi: the first interactive air monitoring station in the Netherlands. Inspired by the Tower of the Winds in Athens, this unique “air measurement house” makes air quality not only visible, but also tangible for everyone passing by.

Realtime data dance in the light of a moiré lamp and move across analogue dials, suddenly bringing the air around us to life.

The project is a collaboration between Rademacher / de Vries architects, GGD Amsterdam and the Gemeente Amsterdam, supported by the Cultural Fund and the Creative Industries Fund NL.
