and always on the lookout for new ideas.
At the end of 2019, Collectief Soepel provided a special request to manufacture a new interior of a brand new 4x4 MAN van. An anonymous van, which includes among other things, a shower, toilet, sleeping places and a seating area were built. The mobile kitchen-unit can be used inside as well as outside of the van.
In collaboration with Plastic Fantastic. We designed, developed and manufactured a new plastic office center 'Dock Office', for the sustainable transport company Airhunters. This project shows that plastic waste can be used as a building material, in order to reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in nature.
Collectief Soepel created the temporary exhibition ‘Horribly Delicious’ for the Nederlands Openlucht Museum. We have been involved in concept development, design, audio visual and realization. It was a great opportunity, and a great challenge, for us to take on every facet of such a large project. For the designing process and the audiovisual content, we collaborated with our favorite photographer and cameraman Bart Laport.
At the end of 2017, six friends decided to form/start a collective "Collectief Soeple". One month after relocating to the new workplace at IPKW, Collectief Soepel started their first big project: developing the entire exhibition of State of Fashion 2018.
Collective Soepel is a collaboration of six entrepreneurs. All with a different background and each with their own perspective. From design to technology and everything in between. Due to the different expertise, the collective can realize projects quickly and flexibly.
Siem is an unstoppable enthousiast, and keeps encouraging the team to look for undiscovered territory. He frequently oversees the big projects from start to finish. His roles: designer, draftsman, maker and/or projectmanager.
In his early childhood, Mees learned the art of welding and grinding in his father’s company (Helldorfer Welding Company). It was clear to him that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a professional welder.
With a background in mechanical engineering and product design, Max is well equipped to make a connection between art and craft. His main motivation is to convert materials into new products that generate surprise, intrigue or emotion. His role in the team is best described as the ‘creative problemsolver’, and he’s always looking for resoursceful solutions (or detours).
As an industrial product designer, Joep’s main themes are sustainability and circularity. He divides his time between the drawing board and the workshop. His broad knowledge of materials and woodworking lets him design ‘smart’ products or objects.
Jeroen is the draftsman who makes the crucial connections between design and result. Collectief Soepel regularly takes on projects as a team, and Jeroen’s skills in the drawing room help to speed along almost every aspect of the process. He spends most of his time in the office, but occasionally shows his technical skills on the executive side as well.
